<p>It has been quite sometime since I had a video on Recruitment Views, but today I was sent the video below by <a href="http://nl.linkedin.com/in/marcoschreurs" target="_blank">Marco Schreurs</a> of <a href="http://www.hpocenter.com" target="_blank">HPO Centre</a>. Although the video is in essences a marketing tool for the company, it has been developed as a result of research by a <a href="http://www.hpocenter.com/index.asp?uid=2&amp;sid=17&amp;url=about-andre-de-waal" target="_blank">Dr. André de Waal MBA</a>. The research was a global study into the main success factors of High Performance Organizations (HPOs) in 2004, which includes the analysis of 290 international studies conducted between 1960 and 2007 and 1470 organizations in 50 countries.</p>
<p>In some ways there is no surprise that it shows that with:</p>
<ul>
<li>Quality of management</li>
<li>Quality of employees</li>
<li>Continuous improvement and innovation</li>
<li>Long-term orientation</li>
<li>Openness and action orientation</li>
</ul>
<p>You can have a high preforming company, but shown in a light hearted video below!</p>

<p><strong>But for all the wrong reasons according to <a href="http://TipTopJob.com" target="_blank">TipTopJob.com</a> survey</strong></p>
<p>The prestige, pomposity and tradition of the election battle seem as far removed from the standard office job as possible. But if the public had to, who would they least like to work with? Who would they prefer as a boss? A new survey from TipTopJob reveals some incisive results.</p>
<p>The survey of over 3000 jobseekers concluded that a staggering 51% of the British public would least like to work with Gordon Brown when compared to Nick Clegg (15%) and David Cameron (33%). Adding insult to injury a surprising 45% of voters elected Gordon as the most likely to embarrass themselves at the office party.</p>
<p>The survey also revealed that although the majority of people would prefer to work with Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat narrowly missed out on the ‘best boss’ gong to David Cameron. David Cameron was the boss of choice with 38% of the votes.</p>
<p>Unfortunately yet again our Prime Minister failed to impress, ranked as the public’s third choice boss with only 26% of the votes.</p>
<p>Corrine Hutchinson, Marketing Director of TipTopJob.com commented “What I found most intriguing about the results was the public’s clear preference to Nick Clegg as a co-worker but not as a superior. Perhaps this would suggest an inability to lead with strong conviction.”</p>
<p>Corinne continued “I know that the majority of our office was in agreement with the results of the office party question. Gordon seems like the kind of guy to enjoy himself should the right situation arise.”</p>

<p>So I had a little trawl of the internet and came up with some of the <strong>worst jobs in the world</strong>, well of course it depends upon your point of view <img src='http://www.recruitment-views.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Mind you the other jobs my not necessarily be classed as bad jobs but more like tough jobs, still it makes you realise that recruitment isn&#8217;t so bad after all!</p>

<p>Rod is about to launch an amazing career site in the not to distant future called <a href="http://www.careerplayer.com/" target="_blank">CareerPlayer</a>, which I have to say will be something special, having had a sneak preview.</p>
<p>I digress just a little, Rod today posted a great recruitment video, which apart from being very funny, has I a serious side given the state of the market at the moment. It certainly makes you think how thinks have changed.</p>

<p>In case you do not realise it is a spoof application.</p>
<p>Still it seemed appropriate to mention as they are looking to recruit 4000, new recruits even with the down turn, as more of us are <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7885312.stm" target="_blank">turning to a cheaper option</a> when it comes to lunch!</p>

<p>So on Friday it starts with a strange email to my boss saying</p>

I am appalled by your choice of employees (<strong>Stephen Fowler</strong>)! As a result, I will NEVER choose to do business with your company in any way, shape, or form.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>After closer inspection I obviously relieved to see it was mistaken identity and the result of a TV programme in the states called wife swap. Having watched the video of the film below I can see why the she sent such an email to my boss, who could blame her.</p>
<p>So just to confirm the Stephen Fowler in the video below isn&#8217;t me, nor would I treat anyone with the same disdain, still it wouldn&#8217;t take to long to confirm this. <p>It can only happen on Youtube I suppose, well this news journalist from the Birmingham Mail, Adam Smith in a rather drunken stupor, while apparently writing up an article on the Barack Obama election win or should I say plagiarising the BBC, decides to hand in his notice while being interviewed.</p>
<p>I wonder if he is regretting what he said the day after and judging by the hits, I suspect his boss has found out by now or will the BBC decide to sue him.</p>
