Is this the new face of the recruitment blogoshpere!

headhunterAs Recruitment Views finally moves into it’s Third year, I have seen a few recruitment blogs come and go, which isn’t surprising as writing continuously for 2 years hasn’t been the easiest thing to maintain at times.

In that time the “UK recruitment blogoshere” has grown from just a handful to an excellent range of bloggers, but it has been a while since a new kid on the block has come in to stir things up since Peter Gold and about time if you asked me.

So who is this new kid on the block, well apparently some tribal leader calling himself the Blunter Headhunter. I am not sure who he is except that he says he is a headhunter from London, wanting to vent some spleen and he certainly is.

So if you expect him to pussy foot  around recruitment issues, then I would avoid it at all costs with comments like, and I am picking the least offensive here “The city is well and truly  rogered” will not win many friends but then again I do not think that is what  he is looking to do. So Blunder Headhunter welcome on board and I look forward to reading many more posts, as I am sure the rest of us will do too.

UK Recruitment Blogs

Louise asked me to give a plug for her Recruitment Blog Aggregator, as Louise knows I would never say no, so I have fully published below.

The one stop shop for UK Recruitment Blogs
http://www.ukrecruitmentblogs.co.uk
“UK Recruitment blogs” is a one page guide to what UK recruitment bloggers are talking about.  It aggregates blog feeds from a variety of UK bloggers specialising in recruitment and is updated every 30 minutes.  It’s an excellent way to keep up to date with news and views from the industry.

The UK Recruitment Blogs website was created by Louise Triance (founder of ukrecruiter.co.uk) in January this year.  When it was first launched there were less than a dozen blogs on the page.  Now there are nearly four times that amount. Louise is happy to add UK recruitment related blogs to the site - just drop her a note at contact2@ukrecruiter.co.uk.
UK Recruitment blogs can be accessed at  http://www.ukrecruitmentblogs.co.uk

Just to add to this I want to reiterate the benefit to Recruitment Consultants to subscribing to RSS feeds, not only to Recruitment blogs for the wealth of knowledge that is often made available for free, but also you should be receiving live feeds from blogs within your chosen industry, how else are you going to be an expert in your field of recruitment!

If you do not yet know how to do it just find this logo rssfeed_logo  on your browser, click on it and you will the see a message saying subscribe to a feed often a choice, I use Google Reader but there are many alternatives. Once done you will never miss a post.

Back up and running

dead-blog Just typical really, as I get into a rhythm on writing on this recruitment blog my laptop decides to give up and roll over, as a result no posts for well over a week in case you have not noticed!

So I apologize to my readers and those who have been expecting a couple of reviews in the last few days. Normal service from now on in, but I have to admit I have enjoyed the enforced break.

Credit where Credit is due

Data Recovery Software Needed

Since Friday my laptop crashed with a virus and as a result I was unable to do any work, let alone write on recruitment views. I have to admit the first day was bad, it was a little like coming off drugs, not that I would know of course!

So 6 days later instead of pulling my hair out, it felt more like a holiday, no checking of stats, no canvas calls just peace and quiet and a few of those household chores were finally completed.

Anyway I digress, the only reason for this post is to say thanks to the Village Idiot who managed to save Recruitment Views from a small disaster. For some unknown reason I was unable to login to the site, the password didn’t work and the email reminder didn’t either, but the Village Idiot’s piece of code for resetting the password in wordpress worked a treat, so thanks again I really appreciated it.
