Online Recruitment for 2009

by admin on November 28, 2008

I was forwarded this press release from Enhance Media for their “Year ahead Conference” which should be of interest with some major speakers, in particular Facebook. They were probably the buzz in recruitment this year, with all the application trying to take advantage of social networking and the promise of a new way to get candidates, personally I would be interested if any worked!

Online Recruitment 2009 - The Year Ahead Conference

29th January 2009, Royal Geographical Society
This week Enhance Media announced the date and line up for their annual ‘Online Recruitment 2009 - The Year Ahead Conference’.
Now in its fifth year “Online Recruitment 2009 - The Year Ahead Conference” will be held in central London on 29th January 2009. The event is one of Europe’s largest annual online recruitment conferences and this year’s event will address the key issues that HR professionals, media owners, recruiters and advertising agencies will face in the online recruitment space in 2009.
Attending the event will give anyone involved in recruitment an essential insight into direct recruitment, using the internet to source candidates, how to reduce hiring fees and which channels and technologies can deliver manageable, effective online hiring in 2009. The topics and speakers include:
Facebook - Facebook will show how recruiters can use social networking sites to engage with candidates and how Facebook’s own tools can generate high quality applications for a role.
PricewaterhouseCoopers – PricewaterhouseCoopers will share a practical case study showing how blogging can aid interaction with candidates, promote an organisation and develop a new source of talent.
YouTube - YouTube will demonstrate how online videos can be used to promote and develop employer brands and attract talent. Also, how video CV sourcing has become a credible and effective recruitment channel.
Daxtra – Daxtra will present an overview of recruitment process automation technologies and show how, in a candidate rich market, technology can reduce the administrative burden during hiring.
Workcircle – Workcircle will explain the role of job board aggregators and how they are changing the shape of online recruitment. Essential listening for anyone thinking of using a job board.
Enhance Media - Enhance Media will discuss the future of online recruitment, Web 3.0, talent pooling and what we need to do in 2009 to be positioned for online recruitment success in 2010.
Bracknell Forest Council – will show how a non-consumer brand employer can use the web to successfully attract and on board candidates and engage with Generation Y employees.

The cost is frozen at last year’s price - £349 - and each delegate will take away information and all presentations on a free data stick.
The last Enhance Media Masterclass Conference sold out within weeks of being announced and places on the Year Ahead 2009 are limited.
