Recruiters lose, Good World Ghana wins!

And rightly so!

As no recruiter wanted to win the £10 to come up with a better title for my last post, (I have to admit I was a little disappointed) I decided that I would give it away and a charity seemed the best place.

foto-childwithdollI have recently ran for a few in the past, but they have always been for large organisations and we all know they take quite a large chunk, but the truth is I have wanted to give to a smaller organisation in poor locations and the little I have will go further and I hope will have more impact and by using bitcoin it will cost me less so more for them.

So by sheer luck I came across www.coinmap.org where it lists a few thousand places that accept Bitcoins or Litecoins, not all charities, but in amongst them I came across this one in Ghana www.goodworldghana.org and sent them £9.58 (I miss calculated the rate.

What makes this special is that by using Bitcoin it was like handing them cash in person, the transaction took seconds to arrive and cost me 4p to send you can actually see the transfer here.

Having now done this I have to admit it was fun, finding a charity on the map and sending them some cash. I just wanted to write this because bitcoin is given so much bad press that you would think we were all drug dealers, when the truth could not be further away.

I am not going into the reasons for getting into cryptocurrencies, but what I can say is that I am looking for the next charity to send some more cash to. If you want to know how I did it, let me know I am more than happy to help.

Oh and why did I mention, well I just hoped some other recruiter may like the idea too, trust me it is fun!
